Mounting-/Operation Instruction for Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz
General Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of this nobilé-product! You have decided on a high-quality product which is manufactured with
the utmost care and subject to several quality controls. Safe use of the product is only guaranteed if each instruction is followed
accordingly. In case of damage caused by non-observance of these instructions the warranty expires. The installation and electrical
connection must be done by an authorized expert (e.g. electrician) in compliance with existing standards and local code. Prior to
any installation or maintenance work, mains must be disconnected. Before putting in operation, make sure any component of the
entire installation does not bear a risk of life. According to common practice, please perform a standard function test, before installing.
To make maintenance work possible, the lighting system should be accessible after installation.
The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz is capable of sending wireless signals to Almond Gateway upon detection of
door/window opening.
The

The IEEE802.15.4 standard, allows a large amount of devices to be included in a network and coordinated for data
exchange and signal transmission. The
Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz
It can be included in the network to transmit signal upon activation, but cannot permit any other device to join the network
through the Ambient Light Sensor.
Parts Identification
1. LED indicator
Flashes twice quickly: The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz has
successfully joined the Almond Gateway.
Flashes once every 20 minutes: The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz
has lost connection to its current Almond Gateway.
Flashes under Test Mode: The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz is
triggered
Flashes under normal operation: The tamper switch is triggered
the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz is triggered under Low Battery or
Tamper open condition.
2. Function Button
Press the button once to send a supervision signal.
Press and hold the button for 10 seconds then release to reset the Smartmatic
Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz.
3. Tamper Switch
The Tamper switch will be activated when the Smartmatic Window/Door
Contact 2,4GHz is removed from mounted surface, or it cover opened.
4. Battery Compartment
The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz is powered by one 3V CR2
Lithium battery.

Network Setup
Since performing a task in connecting network may consume some power, it is required to follow the instructions to avoid draining
battery of a device
1.
Ensure your Almond Gateway is powered on before inserting battery into the device.
2.
Ensure the Almond Gateway is powered on and within range while a device is in use.
3.
Do not remove the device from the Almond Gateway without removing the battery from a device.
Installation
The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz should be installed on the door/window frame, and the magnet on the door/window.
The distance between the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz and the magnet should be no more than 15mm when the door
is closed. Avoid mounting the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz on metallic surface. If mounting on metallic surface, make
sure the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz can be triggered when the door is opened and the signal can be received
successfully by Almond Gateway. Mount the Door Contact as high as possible.

Mounting the Door Contact
1.
Find a suitable location close to your door/window to install the Smartmatic
Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz.
2.
The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz has 2 rib-marks on one
side (refer to figure), marking the internal magnet switch location. The door
contact should be installed either upright or inverted to ensure that the rib-
marked side faces the magnet.
3.
To mount the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz:
Locate the 2 Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz
mounting knockouts, break through the knockouts and use
the holes as template for appropriate hole positioning. Mark
mounting location on the door/window frame.
Insert the provided wall plugs for plaster/brick installation if
required.
Screw the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz into the
wall plugs. Alternatively, you can also choose use double side
adhesive tape to mount the Smartmatic Window/Door
Contact 2,4GHz
4.
Fit the magnet on the door using the small piece of double sided adhesive
tape or with provided screws. The magnet must align with the rib-mark
side of the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz as shown in figure.
The distance between the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz and the magnet should be no more than 15mm.
Joining the Almond Gateway
The Door Contact needs to join the network to transmit signal when it is triggered. Please follow the steps bellow to join the Smartmatic
Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz to the Almond Gateway.
1.
Pull out the battery insulator; this will connect the battery to power on the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz.
2.
After powering up, press and hold the Function button for 10 seconds, then release it to join the network. Please make
sure the permit-join feature on the Almond Gateway is enabled. If you have pushed the Function button for 10 seconds
on the gateway will be appear following window: "Add sensor, please wait".
3.
As soon as the window appears hold the magnet next to the Door Contact to finish the registration. If the registration is
successful the following window will be appear: "receive sensor, info, please wait". After that window you can change
the name of the sensor and relate a location.
4.
After joining the network, the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz will be registered in the network automatically.
Please check the Almond Gateway to confirm if joining and registration is successful.
5.
After joining network, if the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz loses connection to current network, the LED will
flash every 20 minutes to indicate. Please check your network condition and Door Contact signal range to correct the
situation.
6.
The connection of the sensors among themselves or to the gateway can take up to 30 min. after a temporary interruption
of the gateway.
Factory Reset
If you want to remove the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz from current network and join a new network, you need to use
the Factory Reset function to clear the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz for its stored setting and information first before it
can join another network. To perform Factory Reset:
1.
Press and hold the function button for 10 seconds then release.
2.
The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz has been reset to factory default setting with all its previous network
information removed. It will now actively search for available network again and join the network automatically.
3.
If the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz successfully joins a network, the LED Indicator will flash twice to indicate.
Battery and Low Battery Detection
The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz uses one 3V CR2 Lithium battery as its power source. The battery is installed in the
battery compartment with a battery insulator inserted. To activate the battery, simply pull out the battery insulator. The Smartmatic
Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz feature Low Battery Detection function. When the battery voltage is low, the Smartmatic
Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz will transmit Low Battery signal to notify the user. If movement is detected under Low Battery
condition, the LED Indicator will flash to indicate. When changing battery, after removing the old battery, press the Tamper Switch
twice to fully discharge before inserting new battery
Tamper Protection
The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz is protected by a tamper switch which is compressed against the mounting surface
when mounted. Whenever the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz is removed from mounted location, or its cover opened, the
tamper switch will be activated and the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz will send a tamper open signal to remind the user
of the condition. If movement is detected when the tamper switch is open, the Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz will flash to
indicate.
Supervision
The Smartmatic Window/Door Contact 2,4GHz will transmit a supervision signal to report its condition regularly according to user
setting. The factory default interval is 30 minutes. The user can also press the Function Button once to transmit a supervision signal
manually.
