2. Unit description

2.1. Overview

The energy management solution offered by the INGECON EMS Manager is aimed at the domestic and the
commercial and industrial markets. The device allows for the degree of self-consumption to be increased in line
with installation requirements, acting as a master for the entire system as a whole.
The device analyses the two-way flow of power exchanged between the public grid and the indoor installation
through a wattmeter. The INGECON EMS Manager therefore constantly controls the power setpoint at which the
inverters must work.
This system can also include a battery system controlled by a two-way inverter. This allows for the system to
operate in backup mode in the event of grid outages. It also provides a wide range of possibilities so that energy
production can be managed more efficiently.
In installations where power production is not in line with demand, a load control can be included to enable
consumption during hours of highest production. The INGECON EMS Manager manages the connection and
disconnection of loads connected to the device, based on the power production data obtained from the power
converters and on total installation consumption.
