Installation
Checking the pressure readings:
1.
Place a handpiece coupling onto an air pressure gauge, if available.
2.
Place the gauge onto the dental unit tubing.
3.
Shut off the water and place your foot onto the rheostat.
4.
Adjust the drive air, chip air & water on the unit, as necessary, to reach the recom-
mended pressure readings.
Pressure readings for the STATIS SL & ML:
•
Drive air = 2.1-4.2 bar (30-60 p.s.i.)
•
Recommendation = 2.8 bar (40 p.s.i.)
•
Return air < 0.5 bar (7 p.s.i.)
•
Water = 0.8-2.5 bar (11-36 p.s.i.)
•
Spray air = 1.0-4.0 bar (14-57 p.s.i.)
○ The minimum amount of water required for spray cooling is
50 mL per min. An insufficient amount of water may cause
overheating of the tooth.
Checking the STATIS SL & ML coupling:
All 5 O-rings must be in place and should not be damaged. Missing or damaged O-rings
should be replaced, or they may result in premature failure or negatively affect handpiece
performance.
