Description

The TC8000 onsists of AUDIO INTERFACE MODULES, a DIGITAL PROCESSING UNIT
and OPTICAL Tx & Rx. Utilizing the latest te hnology and omponents available on the market,
the audio interfa e modules ontain CODEC hips to digitize analog audio signals and onverts to
PCM (pulse ode modulation). The PCM signals are digital odes sampled by DIGITAL PRO-
CESS UNIT and onverted to series of logi al "0" and "1". Then the series of ode is transmitted
through the opti transmitter. The re eiving pro ess is the same but reversed.
Three kinds of interfa es an be spe ified: analog, inter om and data.
The analog interfa e is for FSK (frequen y shift key) appli ations. The analog interfa e has 600
ohm isolation audio transformer. The analog voltage an be 0 to 3 Vpp.
The inter om interfa e is for 4 or 2 wire voi e ommuni ation. It onne ts to a handset with
mouth and ear pie e.
Sin e the analog and voi e signals are digitized, the voi e quality will not degrade as the distan e is
extended. For example, distan es to 30 km are typi al for a pair of TC8000's with 1300nm single
mode fiber front end.
The TC8000 has four RJ-11 ports on the rear side to hook to either handsets or ustomer's audio
devi es.
The TC8000 Data Card offers several different inter hangeable interfa es, su h as RS-232, RS-
422, RS-485, TTL and Dry Conta t Relay. It an be upgraded or re onfigured to virtually any
onfiguration; simply onta t the fa tory should the need arise.
Built-in power redundan y is standard. Opti al redundan y is available as an option. Fiber
Opti al onne tors are ST (FC is optional); ele tri al onne tors are RJ11. Power is 12VDC
(24VDC or -48VDC, are optional).
The TC8000 is based on modern FPGA (field programmable gate array) te hnology. As a result,
it benefits users by enabling optimum flexibility, low urrent onsumption, high reliability and
maximum MTBFs.
