INSPECTION AND REPAIR ENGINE OVERHAUL INSPECTION AND REPAIR CRANKSHAFT AND CONNECTING ROD 1. Measure: S Runout (crankshaft) Out of specification ! Replace. Runout: Less than 0.03 mm (0.0012 in) 2. Inspect: S Main journal surfaces S Crank pin surfaces S Bearing surfaces Wear/Scratches ! Replace. - Page 16 INSPECTION AND REPAIR F Put a piece of Plastigauge on each main journal. NOTE: Do not put the Plastigauge over the oil hole in the main journal of the crankshaft. F Install the lower half of the bearings into the crankcase (lower) and assemble the crank- case halves.
