bra ke flu id level in th e re s e rv o ir is to o
low.
Brake pad w e ar o r a leak in the
system m ay be the rea son fo r lo ss o f
bra ke flu id in the rese rvoir.
Have the brake system in s p e c te d at a
M ER C E D ES -BEN Z serv ic e statio n
w ith o u t delay.
Install only brake pads re co m m e n d e d
by us. If o th e r than re c o m m e n d e d
brake pads are installed, th e bra kin g
p ro p e rtie s of the veh icle can be
a ffe cte d to an e x te n t th a t the safe ty is
s u b sta n tia lly im paired.

th e vehicle, the bo ilin g p o in t of the
brake flu id is c o n tin u o u s ly being
re d u ce d th ro u g h the a b s o rp tio n o f
m o is tu re fro m the a tm o s p h e re . U n de r
e x tre m e ly hard o p e ra tin g co n d itio n s ,
th is m o istu re c o n te n t can lead to the
fo rm a tio n o f v a p o r in th e syste m , th u s
re d u cin g th e s y s te m 's e fficie n cy. The
bra ke flu id m u st th e re fo re be re ­
place d annually, p re fe ra b ly in the
sp rin g . It is re c o m m e n d e d to use only

g lo w s w h ile th e e n gine is run ning, th e
V -b e lt m ay have been to rn o ff w h ich
m ake s th e w a te r pu m p also in o p e ra ­
tive. This m ay cause ove rh e a tin g and
dam age to the engine. In th is case the
V -b e lt m u st be re n ew ed b e fore
d rivin g on.
Oil Pressure G auge
The oil p re s s u re may d ro p at idle
sp e e d to 0.3 b a r/4 .4 psi if th e engine
is at o p e ra tin g te m p e ra tu re . This w ill
n o t je o p a rd ize its o p e ra tio n a l re lia b il­
ity. P ressu re m ust, ho w e ver, rise
im m e d ia te ly upon a cce le ra tio n .
The oil p re s s u re ga ug e w ill not
p ro v id e early w a rn in g o f lo w oil level.
