C entral Lock System
The c e n tra l lo ck system w ill lo c k o r
u n lo c k th e veh icle d o o rs and th e tan k
fille r fla p w h e n e ve r th e d riv e r's d o o r is
lo c k e d o r un lo cke d .
A s th e d riv e r's d o o r b u tto n is m oved
th e b u tto n s of all o th e r d o o rs m ust
m ove at th e sam e tim e. If th is is not
th e case, the lo ck of th e c o rre s p o n d ­
ing d o o r has n o t en ga ge d fully. O pen
th e d o o r o n c e m ore and c lo s e it
c o rre c tly .
W ith th e cen tra l lo ck sy ste m enga ge d
th e sa fe ty b u tto n s o f th e fro n t
p a s s e n g e r d o o r, th e rear d o o rs and
th e tailga te can also be a ctu a te d
m anually. The fro n t p a s se n g e r d o o r
and th e tailga te can in a d d itio n be
lo c k e d and u n lo c k e d w ith th e m aster
key.
The c e n tra l lo c k system can only be
a p p lie d by d e p re s s in g th e b u tto n of
th e d riv e r's d o o r. L o c k b u tto n s o f th e
o th e r d o o rs c a n n o t be d e p re s s e d
individually.
The ta ilg a te can also be lo c k e d
in d e p e n d e n tly o f th e c e n tra l lo c k
system . Turn th e m a s te r key c lo c k ­
w is e as fa r as it w ill go and w ith d ra w .
Every tim e th e d riv e r's d o o r is
u n lo c k e d , how ever, th e tailga te lo ck
w ill u n lo c k and can be lo c k e d again
w ith the m a s te r key if needed.
The c e n tra l lo c k sy s te m o p e ra te s on
vacu um g e n e ra te d by th e engine. A
re s e rv o ir allow s th e c e n tra l lo ck
s yste m to be a c tu a te d a b o u t five
tim e s a fte r the en gine is tu rn e d off. If
th e system can the n no lo n g e r be
en ga ge d, idle en gine fo r a s h o rt
pe rio d.
If no vacuum is available, d o o rs and
ta ilg a te have to be lo c k e d individually
usin g a key and d e p re s s in g the
b u tto n . The fuel tan k fille r flap,
ho w e ver, rem ains un lo cke d .

If th e fille r fla p c a n n o t be op en ed
w h e n th e c e n tra l lo c k system is
u n lo c k e d , re fe r to " U n lo c k in g o f the
