1. Installation

1. Mount the sensor on the wall, close to the
humidifier/dehumidifier, but with a minimum
distance of 150 cm. The sensor must be mounted at
a height of +/- 1 meter above the floor. Do not
place the sensor in the direct airflow of fans as this
can influence the measurements (sensor NOT
included).
2. Also mount the TechGrow Humi Twin on the wall
with the supplied mounting kit.
3. Connect the sensor to the bottom of the Humi Twin
with the supplied (UTP) cable(s).
4. Connect the plug of the humidifier and/or
dehumidifier to the socket of the Humi Twin.
5. Plug the plug of the Humi Twin into a 230V/110V
socket.
6. Ready!
2. Which sensors can be connected to
the Humi Twin?
The minimum sensor required is a Temp/RH Sensor.
3. Connecting additional sensors or
other devices
The Humi Twin can receive the values from connected
CO
, humidity and temperature sensors and send them
2
to another controller.
The Humi Twin can only display the RH values.
The Humi Twin also registers the Min/Max values of the
RH.
ATTENTION: NEVER connect two sensors of the
same type to your controller! For example: a S-4
sensor and a Temp/RH sensor must not be
connected at the same time.
4. Automatic functions of the
Techgrow Humi Twin
1. If no sensor is connected to the Humi Twin or in
case of a faulty sensor, this will be shown as NO
SENSOR on the display!
2. Backlight turns off automatically after 30 seconds,
and switches on again only when you turn one of
the knobs.

5. Operation of the Humi Twin

If the relative humidity in the room falls outside the
range (setpoint +/- hysteresis), the humidifier/
dehumidifier is switched on. This depends on the set
functionality (humidifying or dehumidifying).
Example
The desired humidity level is "set" at 60%. The "hys" is set
to 2%. The current humidity level in the room is 62%;
that is 2% higher than the desired humidity level, so the
humidifier is off. The "OK" LED lights green.
Humidification The air humidity is slowly decreasing to
60%: there is no action. Only when the value drops below
the desired humidity level ("set") minus the hysteresis
(2%), the humidifier will be switched on. That is below
60% - 3% = 57%. The humidifier switches on and the
"OK" LED lights red. Now, the air humidity rises, and if
the value has risen above 60%, the humidifier is switched
off again. The "OK" LED lights green again.
Dehumidification The air humidity is slowly rising to
63%: there is no action. Only when the value rises above
the desired humidity level ("set") plus the hysteresis (2%),
the dehumidifier will be switched on. That is above 60%
+ 3% = 63%. The dehumidifier switches on and the "OK"
LED lights red. Now, the air humidity drops. If the value
drops below 60%, the dehumidifier is switched off again.
The "OK" LED lights green again.

6. Meaning led

Red: socket is switched on.
Green: the climate is stable.
Orange (flashing): no sensor or faulty sensor.
7. Operating and adjusting the Humi
Twin
You can control all settings with 2 rotary knobs. When
you turn one of the knobs, the set value appears on the
bottom line of the display. The top line shows the
actual value.
On the bottom line the set value will alternate with the
Min/Max value of the RH.
To reset the Min/Max value, press the small button in
the hole at the back of the Humi Twin with a thin
object, like a paper clip. Or remove the voltage from the
controller for 5 seconds.
