- Page 4 STEP 2 • The hinge mounting posts (AC HINGEMT) should be installed onto the short handrail posts on the second step of the outside stair- case. • Attach one hinge mounting post to each of the short handrail posts with the long skinny side facing down towards the step.

1. Install the gate closer on the hinge post above the two hinges using the screws provided.
2. Ensure the arm of the closer faces the latch side of the gate.
3. To set tension:
- Insert the steel bar into the center hole and turn it away from the gate.
- Screw the arm into the hole nearest the gate.
- Remove the steel bar and let the arm close.
- If needed, repeat these steps using a different hole to adjust tension.
4. Do not over tension, as this may damage the spring and cause the gate to slam shut.
Use a silicone-based lubricant on the closer to improve performance.
