Replacing Components

Replacing Media Drives

It may become necessary to replace the media reader or the
DVD drive. Follow the procedures below to remove or
insert one of the media drives.
Note
Before removing or inserting a media drive, make sure the
unit and the peripheral devices are turned off.

Removing a Media Drive

Open the cabinet.
For details, see "To open the cabinet" on page 7.

Disconnect the power cord.

Remove the drive cover.

When removing the media reader, disconnect it from
the USB ports on the unit.
When removing the DVD drive, disconnect it from the
IDE port on the unit.

Pull the quick-lock pins on both sides of the media
drive directly outward 1, and then turn them 90
degrees 2 to lock them in the open position.

Remove the media drive from the bay.
The old media drive is now removed. To finish the
replacement, you need to insert a new media drive.

Inserting a Media Drive

Insert the new media drive into the appropriate bay,
aligning the holes in the sides of the drive with the
quick-lock pins.

Turn the quick-lock pins 90 degrees to lock them in
the closed position.

When inserting a media reader, connect it to the USB
ports on the unit.
When inserting a DVD drive, connect it to the IDE
port on the unit.

Attach the drive cover.

Connect the power cord.

Close the cabinet.
