How to setup mixed stack of N3000E-ON with N3000 Series switches(Advanced-Lite)

Dell EMC Networking N3000E-ON switches can be mixed stack with N3000 Series switches of up to 8 units.
Mixed stack of N3000E-ON and N3000 Series supports only 1024 active VLANs configurable in the range 1-4093
and does not support MMRP/MVRP. Dell EMC Networking N3000E-ON switches has an expansion slot to install
optional stacking module with two mini-SAS stack ports. Dell EMC Networking N3000 Series switches are
available with two fixed mini-SAS stack ports.
Administrators setting up mixed stack of N3000E-ON and N3000 Standalone switches should follow the below
steps below:
1. Back up your configuration of N3000E-ON and N3000 Switches.
2. Upgrade using telnet or SSH require default enable authentication method or enable password in current
configuration. If not configured follow steps below to configure an enable password:

console(config)#enable password <password>
console(config)#exit
console#copy running-config startup-config
3. Download the Advanced-Lite version of 6.5.3.6 firmware image (N3000AdvLitev6.5.3.6.stk) to N3000E-
ON and N3000 Series switches.
NOTE:
Activate the image to use as the boot (active) image after the switch
resets. Images on the N3048EP-ONswitch is named as active and backup.
4. Activate 6.5.3.6 (Advanced-Lite) firmware on N3000E-ON and N3000 switches
5. Reload the switches.
6. After switch reloaded, download and activate the mixed-stack firmware image
(N3000N3100AdvLitev6.5.3.6.itb) on N3000E-ON and N3000 switches.
7. Reload the switches again.
8. Power OFF both N3000E-ON and N3000 Series switches. Plug-in mini-SAS stack cables and form the
stack between N3000E-ON and N3000 Series switches.
