Ever since installation, approx 6 mos, my Apple CarPlay will not connect. My installer had his phone connect, but the difference is his phone uses a lightning wire and I use a USB-C. My car is a 1999 996.1. There is no voice command to allow CarPlay to connect. What should I do?

To fix Apple CarPlay connectivity issues with the Porsche PCCM Plus in a 1999 996.1, follow these steps:
1. Check iPhone Compatibility: Ensure you are using an iPhone 5 or later with iOS 7.1 or higher.
2. Enable Siri and CarPlay: On your iPhone, ensure Siri® and Apple CarPlay® are activated in the settings.
3. Use the Correct USB Port: Insert the iPhone® into the front USB port of the PCCM Plus unit.
4. Start Apple CarPlay: CarPlay should start automatically when connected. If not, manually select Apple CarPlay from the unit’s menu.
5. Ensure Ignition Is On: The vehicle’s ignition and the PCCM Plus system must be switched on.
6. No Active Calls: Ensure there is no ongoing call, as this can interfere with CarPlay activation.
If issues persist, try restarting both the iPhone and the PCCM Plus unit, or use a different certified Lightning cable.
