Windows P latforms. H owever, a s t he r elease o f t he W indows X P p latform p receded t he r elease o f
the B luetooth p rotocol, c onnecting w ith d evices u sing X P m ight r equire p rior d evice " pairing" i n
order f or M oxiChart t o c ommunicate w ith t he d evice. T he f ollowing g uide p rovides g eneral
instructions f or e stablishing a B luetooth c onnection w ith a M oxi Z u nit u sing W indows X P.

two d ifferent m anufacturers d rivers. P lease n ote t hat t here a re a l arge n umber o f B luetooth

Windows X P – M oxi Z B luetooth C onnection O verview:
1. Download a nd i nstall t he l atest M oxiChart f rom
4.0.192 o r g reater i s n ecessary f or u sing t his a pproach t o c onnect o n W indows X P.
2. Install B luetooth a dapter u sing t he m anufacturer p rovided B luetooth d rivers/software.
3. "Pair" w ith t he O rflo M oxi Z d evice u sing t he m anufacturer i nstalled B luetooth s oftware:
a. This i s t ypically a ccomplished b y r ight m ouse b utton c licking o n t he B luetooth i con
on t he b ottom r ight c orner o f t he W indows S ystem T ray a nd s electing " Add
Connection" o r " Add B luetooth D evice"
b. If n ecessary, e nter t he p airing c ode: " 0000" ( with j ust t he z eros, n o q uotations)
4. Establish a s erial p ort c onnection w ith t he M oxi Z d evice. T his i s o ften p erformed
automatically b y t he B luetooth s oftware o r i ncluded i n t he a dd B luetooth d evice
connection w izard.
5. MoxiChart w ill a utomatically c onnect w ith t he p aired B luetooth d evice f or d ata t ransfer o r
firmware u pdates w hen t he u ser h its t he " connect" b utton.
6. NOTE: D evice p airing w ill h ave t o b e r e-­‐established a fter p owering d own t he M oxi Z ( i.e.
following a f irmware u pdate) o r u pon r ebooting y our c omputer
