4. Piercing the bottle or can.
Method:
1. Close the needle valve (pos. 8).
2. Move the handle (pos. 32) forwards in one movement. The bottle or can will now be
pierced.
5. Snifting.
Snifting allows the headspace to be expelled by excess pressure in a bottle or can without
dissolved CO
being released. To do so, carry out the following actions:
2
Quickly open the needle valve (after piercing) until the pressure on the display drops to about
0.5 bar and close the needle valve.
6. Shaking bottle or can to equilibrium.
Shake the ICM-2000 with the pierced bottle or can and wait until the manometer value stops
increasing.
7. Reading equilibrium pressure on the manometer
You can now read the pressure on the manometer.
8. Removing the bottle or can from the ICM-2000.
Method:
1. Open the needle valve (pos. 08) so that the equilibrium pressure is released,
2. Move the handle (pos. 32) back completely,
3. Close the needle valve again for the next measurement.
9. Determinate temperature and CO
Method:
1. Dip the thermometer in a water bath and determinate the temperature,
2. Determinate the CO
the temperature.
The calculation is based on the Haffmans CO
