SCREEN LOWERING DEVICE

Please review the following points to ensure that the system can achieve your requirements in reference to
travel distance, box installation and control issues.

Description

The Screen Lowering Device provides a solution for a high roofed installation whereby a motorised screen needs
to be physically lowered into position prior to the actual projection screen itself being utilised for projection.
The system is contained within an MDF constructed box to house the lowering device as well as an
ElectriCinema projection screen when in the up position.
Utilising a winding cable drum the screen is lowered by steel cables while a separate spring operated cable
management system is employed to handle power cords during travel.

Installation

The main box unit is designed to be installed into a ceiling space and utilises an integrated ceiling edge strip
cover so no plaster or paintwork is required after the installation.
The unit could also be mounted behind a bulkhead or cross beam within the room, and therefore ordered
without the ceiling edge strips.
The unit has 8 fixing points on units under 150", and 10 fixing points on all screens 150 inch and over in size.
Utilising captive nut-serts – 3/8 Whitworth thread - for threaded brooker rod or eye-bolts (eye-bolts supplied) for
chain suspension of the unit.
Please ensure that the structure that you intend to suspend this unit from is suitable for the purpose.
You should use all fixing points for a safe installation, with the end fixing points being the only points connected
to internal steel bracketing these MUST be used in every installation.

Control of Unit

Screen Lowering device is supplied with a pair of 240v Connect Motor Controllers, please see attached
instructions for connection and control advice.
For Projection Screen connection please use the grey flex power cord
For Winch Unit connection please use the white flex power cord

Warning

It is important to remove all transport packaging materials from the unit before operation.
Please note the projection screen slat rod is taped onto the screen canister for transit and you will need to
operate the winch unit ONLY at first, to lower the screen canister, then remove the slat rod tape, before lowering
the projection screen.
People should never stand beneath this device during operation.
