• The mains socket into which the power adapter is plugged must be easily acces-
sible.
• The product should only be used in dry indoor areas, it must not become damp or

Version 11/13
Getting started, Connection via RJ45
• If the rotor head on the camera has been covered, e.g. with some adhesive strips (protection
during transport), remove these first.
• Connect the WLAN antenna via the corresponding connection socket at the back of the cam-
era.
• Connect the camera's RJ45 connector with a 1:1 connected network cable to its network, e.g.
a network switch.
• Plug the low-voltage plug of the camera into the corresponding socket of the power adapter
provided and connect the power adapter with a power point. After a few seconds, the cam-
era's motor drive will start up (calibration for horizontal and vertical movement) and the white
LED on the front of the camera will flash on and off during this time.
There are two further LEDs on the RJ45 input: The top, right-hand LED indicates the link
status (network cable connection ok). The top, left-hand LED indicates data transfers via LAN
cable.
• Insert the provided CD into the appropriate drive on your computer and start the installation
programme (programme name: "IPCamSetup.exe").
Follow the instructions of the software. Windows needs to be restarted afterwards.
Please note that the names and descriptions of the installation procedure, as described here,
may be different in newer versions of the software. In this case, follow the manufacturer's
operating instructions supplied with the software.
• Once you have started the programme you have just installed ("IP Camera Tool"), it will
search for available cameras in the network.
When the camera is shown with its respective IP address, double-click on it.
• You will be prompted to enter your username and password. Enter the username: "admin" (in
lower case and without quotations). Do not enter anything into the password field.
• Next, click "OK", then in the next window, click the relevant "Sign in" button, depending on
which internet browser you are using.
• Depending on the security settings in place, if you are using Internet Explorer an error mes-
sage might appear, stating that a required ActiveX element cannot be installed or that the
installation of the ActiveX can be started manually by clicking on the information bar.
This ActiveX element is necessary for the camera image to be shown. Please note that the
ActiveX software for the Internet Explorer offers more settings than the software for other
internet browsers.
Furthermore, it may be necessary to make modifications to the settings for the antivirus or
firewall programmes before the software will function properly.
Unfortunately, due to the variety of programmes a description of the precise procedure of the
procedure is not possible.
• Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device no longer works
- the device has been stored under adverse conditions for a long time
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are
to be observed.
• Disconnect the power supply from the camera if it is not to be used for a while (e.g.
for storage).
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this manual, please contact our
technical service or another specialist.
Test the camera before installing it permanently in the desired place using the
mounting bracket provided.
To make all the settings, the camera must always be connected first to the computer
via RJ45. Only once the camera is working properly can WLAN operation be set up.
For the set-up process to be straightforward, it is essential for your network to have
an active DHCP-Server (e.g. as contained in every router).
Please note: There must be a DHCP server activated in your network (e.g. the
DHCP server in a router). Your PC must be configured so that it assigns an IP ad-
dress automatically.
Depending on the security settings of your Windows, a Windows Firewall warning
will appear. The access of the software must be authorised, otherwise the product
cannot be used.
Further information about the software can be found on the CD supplied with the
manufacturer's operating instructions.
