Instructions for use IB 30 LUXE

IB 30 LUXE:
• Remove the iron from the iron protection shell (optional).
• Place the cable in the housing supplied (22).
• Place the iron on the iron rest pad (2).
Filling the boiler with water
- Pull the plug out of the socket.
- Carefully unscrew the safety cap (1), making sure the steam has completed exhausted.
- Fill the bottle (16) with tap water (untreated).
- Insert the bottle into the opening of the steam generator.
- Thoroughly screw the safety cap back without tightening it too much (tighten too much is useless and
may cause the wear of the seal).

Important: the maximum capacity of the steam generator is 1 liter. Do not forget that some water always
remains inside the generator. When you fill in the water, the air bubbles inside the filling opening of the
steam generator may impede another refilling. We recommend to gently shake the bottle during the
refilling. Never fill the steam generator under water tap: danger of short-circuit!
Information about the water
This iron works with untreated tap water. Decalcified water of any kind or water from tumble-dry-
ers is unfit, since it may be very corrosive. Never use water treated with filter cartridges, since
the residues (ex. particles of activated carbon) may block the mechanic parts of the appliance. Never
add in water perfumes or other additives. Water with additives may damage the steam generator with
subsequent costs of cleaning and service. Hard water and a frequent use may cause the formation of
scale deposits in your steam generator. If you wish to slow down the scale forming, we recommend to
regularly rinse out your steam generator (see maintenance, page 30).
Before starting the appliance for the first time
Always remember that an improper use of the electric current may be fatal. Please, carefully read the
indications on page 18/19 and follow these safety instructions:
• Before filling the appliance with water always turn the appliance off and pull the plug out of the
socket.
• Never touch the iron soleplate when in use.
• Keep the iron soleplate away from the cable
• Pay attention the steam is never directed toward people or animals.
• Since the steam generator is under pressure, the safety cap should never be opened.
• Clean the appliance only when unplugged and when it has completely cooled down.
