    Introduction Thank you for having chosen a JCD unit. If you follow the instructions given in this manual, we are sure you will enjoy this device for a long period of time. For your own safety, please read this user manual carefully before you initially start-up.

    DO NOT update a working system unless necessary DO NOT use old or outdated browsers to access the web interface – JCD has been tested with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox – other browsers will probably work but your mileage may vary)
  • Page 7: Network Access

    Communication with the control unit is possible via both Ethernet and Wi-Fi. The device acts as a Wi-Fi hotspot, you should be able to find a network named “JCD-xxxxxxxx” with “xxxxxxxx” being a combination of numbers and letters. The exact SSID as well as the WPA key can be found on a sticker on the control unit itself.

    JCD Configuration - Projector In order to be able to interact with the projector, JCD needs to be configured with the serial connection settings. Switch to the “System Setup & Calibration” tab and open the “JCD Config” section. The system is able to detect these settings automatically, click on the “Press to start autodetection... ” button to start the detection.

    JCD from other networks, enter the IP address of the local network router into the “JCD LAN gateway” field – by default, this is empty. In case of an actual IP address change, JCD will need to be restarted. A message will inform you about the restart, which will take a few seconds to finish.

    “Zoom Advance” button to increase the zoom by one step towards the maximum. Keep advancing the zoom step by step, until there is no further movement visible, and press the “Zoom Calibration Save” button. JCD will now again reset the zoom and the determined number of steps are saved and displayed above the buttons.

    Basic System Control The „Basic System Control“ tab features a list of buttons which represent commands that can be sent directly to JCD or the projector. Certain commands may accept numeric arguments, in which case there will be an input box next to the command button.

    “JCD Configuration – Network” section for further information. JCD can also be used together with an ArtNet/DMX512 controller connected via either Wi-Fi or Ethernet. All “Basic System Control” commands as well as a special combined “Absolute Focus and Zoom” control mode are available.

    Sysinfo & Log The „Sysinfo & Log“ tab contains internal information about the current state of JCD as well as the ArtNet/DMX log. To open it, click on „ArtNet/DMX Log“ directly above the „Sysinfo“ section. The log shows information about all incoming ArtNet/DMX data on the selected network interface. (see the network configuration section for further information) Only the last 50 log entries are available.
