QUICK REFERENCE FOR
BLADDER VOLUME
1.
If the device is in sleep mode, press any button. The
instrument turns on.
2.
Press the
top
button in order to enable or disable
female mode.
Use the female option only for women who have not
undergone a hysterectomy.
3.
Have the patient lie in the supine position with
abdominal muscles relaxed.
4.
Palpate the patient's symphysis pubis (pubic bone).
5.
Place an ample amount of gel midline on the patient's
abdomen, approximately 1 inch (3 cm) above the
symphysis pubis.
6.
Place the instrument on the gel on the patient's
abdomen.
7.
Aim the instrument slightly downward toward the
patient's coccyx (tail bone).
