ASA107 Instructions Page 1
1. Place the hull of the Cape Horn in the stand.
Carefully unroll the sails and remove the bowsprit.
At the front of the ship slide the bowsprit under
the brass brace until it stops in the wood terminal.
2. Attach the bow line to the eyehook under the
tip of the bowsprit.
3. Attach the lines on either side of the bowsprit
to the eyes on the port and starboard sides of the
hull.
4. Set the Mast: Place the base of the mast in the
brass maststep near mid-ship. The lowest eye on
the mast (the eye for the boom) faces aft (rear).

5. Locate the eyes at the top of the mast on port
and starboard sides. Stationary lines (stays) descend
from the eyes. On the port (left) side attach the
shorter stay to the aft deck eye "E" after passing
through the guide loop on the end of the spreader.
The longer line is the backstay line. It connects to
the eye "H" on the port side of the deck.

6. On starboard (right) the shorter stay connects
to the starboard "E" eye after passing through the
guide loop on the end of the spreader. The longer
line is the forestay line and it connects to the eye
"A" at the tip of the bowsprit.
