Introduction
The Type 543B Oscilloscope is o versatile laboratory
instrument designed tor use with all Tektronix lettered- or
1-series plug-in units.
VERTICAL DEFLECTION SYSTEM
Refer to Table 1-1 for the characteristics.
SWEEP GENERATOR
Sweep Rates
0.1 /isec/cm to 5 sec/cm in 24 calibrated
steps.
Displayed sweep-rate accuracy is
= 3 % . An uncalibrafed variable sweep-
rate control permits the sweep to be
slowed to at least 0.4 of the indicated
rate.
Sweep
Any sweep rate can be increased 2, 5, 10,
Magnification
20, 50 or 100 times by expanding the
center portion of the display horizontally.
Sweep-rate accuracy is within — 5% in the
magnified positions until the sweep rate
exceeds 0.02 ,usec/cm.

to 10 me.
Internal (ac low-frequency rejection)? Mini­
mum deflection is 2 mm, from 30 kc to
10 me, rising to 1cm at 30 me with less
than 1 mm of horizontal jitter at a sweep
rate of 20 nsec/cm.
Internal (automatic):
150 cps. W ill trigger from 50 cps to 10 me
with increased deflection.
External (ac): Minimum amplitude is 0.2
volt, from 150 cps to 10 me, rising to 1
volt at 30 me with less than 1 mm of hori­
zontal jitter at a sweep rate of 20 nsec/cm.
