Construction and description
Construction and description
The infant radiant heater consists of the heater unit and
the control unit.
The heater unit comprises 4 infrared ceramic radiating
elements and a low-voltage halogen lamp.
The halogen light provides good illumination of the
working area and, compared to incandescent lights,
good colour reproduction, so that diagnostically
significant colour shades can be more easily recognised.
The control unit is located on the side of the housing.
The part of the control unit facing the work area has a
membrane keypad with the display and input keys.
In manual control mode, the heater level is set to fixed
values.
With skin temperature control (automatic mode),
the skin temperature is continuously adjusted towards
a predefined set value. In both manual and automatic
modes, correct monitoring is ensured by control routines
and alarms.
With the built-in timer, started at the time of birth, the
times relevant for the APGAR test (1 minute, 5 minutes
and 10 minutes) are indicated by an audible signal.
