Frequently Asked Questions
How do I set which MIDI channels my
Micron is using?
Press [config], and scroll to the "MIDI: Channel" parameter.
In Programs, Patterns, and Rhythms modes, this is the only MIDI
channel that the Micron will use.
In Setups mode, you have a choice. If you want each Part and
Beat to use a different channel, scroll to the previous parameter,
"MIDI: Setup mode", and ensure that it is set to "multi-channel".
This means that Part A will use the "MIDI: Channel" channel,
Part B will use the next one, and so on. If you want the entire
setup to use just the single channel, set "MIDI: Setup mode" to
"single-channel".
How can I select a program/setup/
pattern/rhythm through MIDI?
First, you need the MIDI bank and patch numbers. For a
program, hold down the [programs] button for a second, and
these numbers will appear on the display. For a setup, use the
[setups] button, and so on.
Next, enter the bank and patch numbers into your sequencer. If
this doesn't seem to work, you may need to check your sequencer's
"bank select method". Micron uses the standard MIDI bank select
protocol, wherein the bank number is equal to cc 32, plus 128
times cc 0. Other synths deviate from the standard, and your
sequencer may be set up to accommodate them instead.
If it still doesn't work, see the next question.
Why isn't my Micron responding to MIDI
program change messages?
Press [config], scroll to the "MIDI: Pgm change" parameter, and
ensure that it is set to "on".
