SPARE PARTS

Lens Assembly (7927) Replacement.
Remove the two screws holding the lens frame together
and remove the two halves of the lens frame.
Roll back facepiece from the edge of the lens and
remove the lens. To replace, align the centre of the lens
with the centre line of the facepiece.
The centre of the lens is marked by two small dots, one
at the top centre and a second at the bottom centre.
Place the lens into the facepiece, then re-attach the
lens frame. Replace the two screws and tighten.
Exhalation valve cover (7918) and (7283) Exhalation
valve replacement
Remove the exhalation valve cover by lifting at the two
prongs on either side of the centre opening and sliding
down. Figure 5.
Remove exhalation valve by pulling on the edges of the
valve.
Push new valve completely down onto centre post of
the valve seat.
IF VALVE SEAT IS DAMAGED, REPLACE
BREATHING ROOM ASSEMBLY.
Speech diaphragm replacement ( 7895)
Remove the nose cup by pulling out of the groove
around the speech diaphragm. Turn the diaphragm
retaining key ring counter-clockwise and remove.
Push the diaphragm out of the facepiece from
underneath using the eraser end of a pencil or similar
object.
To replace the diaphragm, follow the above steps in
reverse.
Spectacle Kit (7925).
Insert two prongs of the eye glass frame into the holes
of the frame holder. Insert the frame holder into the
facepiece. (Fig 7 )
Bayonet Connector Kit (7910)
Hold the inside part of the connector secure, grasp the
outside of the connector and twist counter-clockwise to
remove.
To replace the connector, press the inner section into
the facepiece until the end of the threads are flush with
the facepiece exterior, then screw on the outer piece by
turning clockwise.
Inhalation Valves (7282) Replacement.
Grasp the edges of the valves and pull away from the
plastic post. Replace if the valve is distorted, cut, split or
cannot be reassembled onto the valve seat. If the valve
seat is damaged, replace the entire connector kit (7910)
Inhalation Gasket (6895) Replacement.
Replace the gaskets if they are warped, distorted, cut or
split.
Be sure the gasket is flat and seated correctly.
Nose cup valve (7882) replacement
The nose cup valves are supplied as a complete
assembly. Remove the nose cup valves if they become
warped, torn or otherwise damaged. Replace the
valves in the nose cups such that the post points away
from the nose. Remove by grasping the edges of the
valves and carefully pulling the post out of the valve
seat. Replace if the valve is cut, split, warped or will not
seal. If the valve seat is damaged, replace the entire
valve assembly. To replace, position the valve inside
the nose cup and insert the rubber post onto the centre
hole of the valve seat. Carefully pull on the post until the
groove on the post is in the centre hole. Ensure the
valve is flat against the valve seat.
Breathing room assembly (7924) replacement
Remove the speech diaphragm, nose cup, and
exhalation valve cover and exhalation valve. Use a
Philips head screwdriver to loosen retaining ring and
remove breathing room assembly for cleaning and
inspection.
Reassemble by inserting the breathing room assembly
into the facepiece, reapplying the retaining ring and
tighten.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTION
Cleaning is recommended after each use. If the
respirator is to be used for more than one shift it should
be cleaned at the end of each shift and stored in the
original packaging or a sealed container. Use the 3M™

Remove the filters and disconnect the air supply unit if
appropriate. Clean parts (excluding filters) by immersing
in warm cleaning solution (water temperature not to
exceed 50°C), scrub with soft brush until clean.
Add neutral detergent if necessary. Disinfect respirator
by soaking in a solution of quaternary ammonia
disinfectant or sodium hypochlorite or other disinfectant.
Rinse in clean, warm water and air dry at room
temperature in a non-contaminated atmosphere.

Do not use cleaners containing lanolin or other oils on
these products.
Do not autoclave.
Do not use petrol, chlorinated degreasing fluids (such
as trichloroethylene), organic solvents or abrasive
cleaning agents to clean any part of the equipment.
Do not reassemble parts until facepiece is completely
dry.
