Page 5: How The Calorex 'Pp16Amy' Works
1.0 HOW THE CALOREX ‘PP16AMY’ WORKS. The Calorex PP16AMY is an air to water heat pump that is designed to provide indirect low pressure hot water (LPHW) to swimming pool air handling units that contain a water to water heat exchanger. The PP16AMY is an alternative to a fossil fuel boiler and can provide flow temperatures up to 55°C. -

(Minor indentations in the fins do not affect performance). -

3.0 PLUMBING a) The PP16AMY water connections on the machine are 3/4” BSPM stubs. b) The PP16AMY is supplied with bungs fitted in the water connection fittings. These need to be removed before the PP16AMY is installed. c) The PP16AMY should be connected upstream of other heaters. d) Suitable breakable couplings should be installed local to the heat pump. -

PP16AMY OWNER INSTALLATION MANUAL 4.3 POOL PUMP SYNCHRONISATION For installations where the filter pump, which also provides water to your heat pump, is controlled by a time clock (supplied by the installer) your Calorex heat pump can override “pump off” periods set on the time clock so that the filter pump will run if your swimming pool requires heating. -

PP16AMY OWNER INSTALLATION MANUAL 9.0 WINTERSATION PROCEDURE If the PP16AMY is going to be kept running continuously then is not necessary to perform the winterisation procedure. WARNING. Isolate machine before removing covers! The heat pump embodies electrical and rotational equipment, it is recommended for your own safety that a competent person carries out the following procedure. -
