Introduction

Before you start mounting the 1-Wire Term 1 module and putting the device into operation, read these operating
instructions carefully until the end, especially the section of the safety instructions.

Product description

In a 1-Wire network, the 1-Wire Term 1 ensures a defined termination at the end of the 1-Wire network and thus a
stable and professional 1-Wire network. The 1-Wire Term 1 is thus a basic component of the 1-Wire network.
Active termination (1-Wire Term 1) is highly recommended for increasing the maximum line length and
improving the system stability of the 1-Wire network, especially with long 1-Wire lines and with a setup in star
or tree topology.
In a 1-Wire network up to 3 pieces of 1-Wire Term 1 modules can be connected. The 1-Wire Term 1 is very
compact and can be ideally installed in a flush-mounted box.
A 1-Wire network should be terminated at the beginning and at the end (like many other bus systems). This
task is fulfilled by the 1-Wire Controller / 1-Wire Gateway or 1-Wire Bus Coupler at the beginning of the 1-
Wire network and the 1-Wire Term 1 at the end of the line. The use of 1-Wire Term 1 prevents reflections at
the cable ends and thus ensures increased system stability of the entire 1-Wire network.
The 1-Wire Term 1 contains a passive and an active terminating resistor for an optimized termination of all 1-
Wire network sizes. The module has an operating voltage and activity display via LEDs. It is designed for
installation in 1-wire networks with standard 3-wire system (GND, 1-wire data and 5 V).
The 1-Wire Term 1 module has overvoltage and reverse polarity protection of the operating voltage and 1-
Wire data line.

No. 11355  If measurements with an open housing are unavoidable, for safety reasons an isolating transformer must be installed upstream or a suitable power supply can be used.  After installing the required tests according to DGUV / regulation 3 (German statutory accident insurance, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_Statutory_Accident_Insurance) must be carried out.
