- Page 13 KL8-3A User Manual Heater Configurations and plumbing The power supply available may determine which model heater and kilowatt ratings are available to be used. ALL HEATERS MUST BE INSTALLED HORIZONTALLY ONLY to ensure proper operation of sensors. The heater and flow/temp sensor union must also be installed upright – with the sensors / terminal boxes at the top.
