Figure 25: Activate Pulsing from Pulse Settings Page
This screen is only used to turn on the pulsing system for fault location. It will cause the OHMNI-PM grounding resis-
tor value to be modulated to permit readings to be easily detected on portable current probes. Pulsing is toggled ON
and OFF with the buttons. The bottom line of the display indicates the status of the pulsing module. It should change
the indicator color. Note: If the pulsing cannot be turned ON, it could be because the InterLOCK setting has been set
to ON in the pulse set-up. In this case pulsing cannot be turned ON unless there is an actual fault on the system. This
can be easily changed in the set-up configuration.
In User mode, the commands Interlock and Inverted Mode are blocked. Enter Admin mode to change this configura-
tion.
Faults can be located easily with the use of a flexcore sensor (I-Gard type TS-SENSOR). Following feeder fault iden-
tification, faults may be traced by following the feeder circuits downstream with a multimeter. The flexcore sensor is
wrapped around the feeder cable/duct and if a pulse is detected on the ammeter (DMM), then the circuit being tested
is faulted and the detection process can be moved further down to a lower branch circuit. This way, the fault can be
