Conventions
The Pulseo is controlled via a computer connected to the either the

port on the back of the power supply. A personal com-

puter running the Pulseo GUI control software is required for initial setup
and testing. The communications configuration of the Model J200 power
supply cannot be altered with software in the field. The default factory set-
tings are listed below.
Communications Parameters
9600 baud
No parity
8 data bits
1 stop bit
Hardware Handshake: None
Enable: Echo local typed characters.
Enable: Send line feeds
The user can issue commands and create programs for operating the Pulseo
laser system using the Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments
(or SCPI) serial command and query language described on the next few
pages. The latest version is always available from Spectra-Physics. This
section describes software 0135-0970 revision D. The following are the
conventions used in this book:
