Use
Choose a suitable place to install the smoke
alarm.
As smoke rises, we recommend installing
the smoke alarm on the ceiling in the
middle of a room.
Twist the casing (1) off the mounting plate
(5).
Screw the mounting plate securely to the
Kitchen
ceiling using the accompanying screws.
Insert a 9 V ca-zn battery into the battery
compartment (4).
Twist the casing securely onto the
mounting plate.
Press and hold the test button (3). The alarm
should go off after a few seconds. Release
the test button.

Replacing the battery

Only ever replace batteries with other
batteries of the same type.
When the battery is running down, the

smoke alarm will emit a high-pitched sound
every 45 seconds.
Replace the battery as soon as possible,
and test the smoke alarm by pressing and
holding the test button.

Cleaning and maintenance

Wipe the smoke alarm down regularly with
a well-wrung cloth. Vacuum the grille if it
becomes dusty.
