General instructions for installing the interface board in a PC
Use these instructions when referred to in step
3 of the installation guide overleaf.
These are general instructions only. You may
need to see the computer's manual for the
correct option board installation procedure.
Note: You will need appropriate screwdrivers.
1. Turn the computer off and unplug it from
the AC (power) outlet.

Warning:
Never remove the cover of the computer
while it is plugged into a power source.
2. Disconnect the keyboard, monitor and all
the cables and peripherals from the
computer, and then move it to a place that
will allow sufficient room for installation.
Note: You may need to unscrew some cables
with a screwdriver.
3. Remove the cover retaining screws and
keep them in a safe place while you work
on the computer.
4. Remove the cover.
5. Choose a 16-bit option slot in which to
install the board, and remove the screw
and slot cover.

6. Insert the card gently into the slot in the
correct direction.

Cautions:
Set the jumpers on the interface board
correctly before inserting it into the PC.
See the Installation Guide and Jumper
Settings sections overleaf.
Do not touch the parts on the board or
the board connector.
If the board does not seem to fit, do not try
to force it. Check the alignment of the
connectors and then reinsert the board. Be
sure that it is firmly seated in the slot.
7. Secure the board with the screw you
removed from the slot cover.
8. Replace the top cover of the computer and
secure it with the retaining screws.
9. Reconnect the keyboard, monitor, and
peripherals to the computer.
10. Turn the computer on and check to see that
it operates correctly.
