13. Choosing a Focus Mode
a. To choose a focus press the button below the OK button with the image of the
flower and MF on it. A focus menu with three options will appear. To scroll
through the options use the same MF/flower button. Find the desired focus and
press OK.
b. The focus options are:
i. Auto focus: Camera automatically adjusts focus according to distance to
subject.
ii. Macro Close-Up: Use for close-ups of flowers, insects, or small objects.
iii. Infinity: Use when shooting distant scenes through foreground objects
such as windows or when shooting landscapes.
14. Shooting in Scene Mode
a. Choose this mode for automatic adjustment of settings to suit the selected subject
type, or use the voice recording option to record sound only.
b. These are the possible options: Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Night portrait,
Party/indoor, Beach/snow, Sunset, Dusk/dawn, Night landscape, Close-up,
Museum, Fireworks show, Cop, Backlight, Panorama assist, and Voice recording.
c. To select a specific scene:
i. Rotate the top dial to the left of ON/OFF on the top of the camera to
Scene. The word Scene is printed on the top of the dial.
ii. Press the Menu button to display the scene menu screen.
iii. Scroll up and down the menu using the buttons above and below the OK
button. When the desired scene is selected press the OK button.
d. Take a picture in that particular scene mode.
1. Auto: flash fires automatically when lighting is poor.
2. Auto with red-eye reduction: reduces red-eye in portraits
3. Off: no flash
4. Fill Flash: Flash fires when a picture is shot. It illuminates
shadows and backlit subjects.
5. Slow sync: fill flash is combined with slow shutter speed.
6. Rear-curtain sync: fill flash fires just before shutter closes, creating
effect of a stream of light behind moving objects.
