PL-880 tips and tricks for a blind user
Front panel layout:
The front panel has the speaker on the left hand side and the LCD display and all
the push button controls are grouped on the right hand side.
So considering the right hand side, the LCD display takes up the top 40% of that
side and is smooth to touch.
Below the LCD display there are 5 buttons. They are thinner and marginally
longer than any of the other buttons. From left to right they are:
Time set, alarm set, display (toggles between current time, alarm time and signal
level) - shared key with the key-lock function, FM stereo shared key with the AM
bandwidth function, and VF/memory key, which allows the user to select from
pre-stored frequencies in memory or VF the free tuning mode.
Below that first single row of 5 buttons the remaining space is divided in two.
On the left hand side (and these buttons are longer than those on the right hand
side) is the 12 key numeric keypad, 4 rows each having 3 buttons.
Unfortunately there is no raised dimple on the 5 key unlike some other Tecsun
models.
Top row from left to right: 1,2,3
Second row: 4,5,6
Third row: 7,8,9
Fourth row: memory access , 0(zero), memory delete
On the right hand side of the lower portion (below the single row of 5 buttons)
there are a total of 8 buttons arranged in 4 rows of 2 buttons.
