This supplemental set of instructions describes additional features specific to your
housing model Prior to testing the system in the water please read this supplement
along with the general instruction manual to become familiar with its features and

The internal lens shade helps block light reflection/refraction caused by the
interaction of the external color filter and the flat port
Carefully thread the lens shade on the front of the camera lens The lens threads
are very fine; D D O O N N O O T T cross thread It should screw on very easily If it is difficult to
turn you are cross threading
Completely thread the lens shade into the camera to avoid any potential clearance
or sealing problems when the camera is installed and the housing is sealed

Epoque These waterproof lenses screw on to the front of the lens port and can be
attached or removed underwater for greater versatility The threads on these lenses are
very fine; DO NOT cross thread It should screw on very easily If it is difficult to turn
STOP you are cross threading remove and try again
Due to the length of the port you may notice slight vignetting when in full wide
angle A slight shading of the corners (vignetting) would be noticed when viewing thru
the electronic viewfinder or viewing your video footage To eliminate vignetting simply
zoom out of full wide angle slightly This reduces the overall coverage angle only
slightly Or contact Ikelite about a shorter port
There is another optional wide angle lens which secures directly to the front of
the camera lens inside the housing It is the optional
WD H C Wide Converter offered by Canon Note that you MUST also replace the
original lens port on the housing with the required Ikelite extended lens port
dome port or
the housing

flat port over the dome port
A Flat Port magnifies the underwater subject to appear closer and larger Termed
refraction it also narrows the coverage angle The enlarged image is beneficial for
standard telephoto and macro lenses
Maximizing wide coverage is important with wide angle lenses Ikelite's optical
dome lens corrects for refraction to maintain the same coverage angle underwater as
above water
To use a color filter with the optional Extension Port requires UR/Pro Color
