18" Aluminum Wheels with Chrome Alloy Finish
• Optional on SE and SEL
• Manufactured using a physical vapor disposition
(PVD) process
– Uses a DC plasma sputtering process rather than
a chemical reaction at the surface to be coated
(as in chemical vapor deposition)
– Process first applies a thin chrome alloy layer
over two layers of primer, then applies a final
clearcoat layer to protect the alloy layer to
provide a long-lasting, bright finish
– PVD process is environmentally responsible
• N o environmentally unsafe products are used
in the manufacturing
• N o harsh chemicals to dispose
– PVD wheels are equivalent in weight to painted
wheels and significantly lighter than traditional
chrome plated wheels
• Refer to Make the Point for information on
cleaning PVD wheels

Explain to your customers that they should NOT
use any chrome cleaners when cleaning the
Escape 18" aluminum wheels with chrome alloy
finish, as the chemicals and abrasives will ruin the
protective clearcoat and, eventually, degrade the
PVD layer. The wheels should be cleaned with soap
and water or a mild approved cleaner
warranty issues.
