INTRODUCTION
The
CDC
9410-4 FINCH™Disk
Drive,
hereinafter
called FINCH,
is a small,
low-cost,
medium-performance,
random-access
rotating-disk,
mass-memory
device
designed
to record
and recover
data on up to two rigid eight-inch
non-removable
fixed disk media.
The FINCH
uses
low-mass
flying read/write
heads
attached to a precisely controlled rotary positioner.
It has an unfor-
matted
data storage
capacity of 8.24,
32 or 40 megabytes,
depending
upon
configuration.
