14. Care and Cleaning
a) Meter
•
The meter is generally maintenance free.
•
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as
they can cause damage to the device housing and malfunctioning.
•
Clean the product with a dry, fibre-free cloth.
b) Electrode
•
Distilled water along with vigorous stirring, or the use of a squirt bottle is sufficient for normal
cleaning.
•
Never rub, brush, or use abrasive materials. Gently pat the electrode dry using a clean,
soft, lint-free cloth.
•
The probe should be stored in the soaker bottle (11) and filled to a third with soaking solution.
Suggestion
•
Check that a neutral pH 7 buffer solution is used.
•
The buffer may be contaminated, use fresh solution.
•
The electrode may be defective, replace it.
•
Check the buffer pH is not the same as the one used
for the previous point.
•
