POSSIBLE CAUSE(S)
1. Normal expansion and contraction of
metal parts during periods of heat-up
and cool-down.
2. Sediment buildup on or around the
elements.
3. The heat pump compressor or fan
running.

2. Add or service a thermal expansion
tank.
3. Non-functioning Temperature &
Pressure Relief Valve

• Drain and flush the tank as directed under
the "Draining and Flushing" section (page
28).

1. Check water supply inlet pressure. If higher
than 80 PSIG, install a pressure reducing
valve.
