MT1450 / MT1460/MT1463 5" and 6" Random Orbital Palm Sanders
General Assembly Instructions For
"SGV" Housing Conversion:
2. Install the (7) SuperVac™ Vacuum Shroud onto the
Sander Housing.
3. Slide the (6) SuperVac™ SGV Exhaust Adapter Fitting into the
exhaust of the (7) Vacuum Shroud.
4. Lightly grease the two (3) O-rings and place them in the
grooves of the (2) SGV Retainer. Slide the SGV Retainer
Assembly into the (4) SGV Swivel Exhaust Assembly as shown
in the Figure. Hand press the (5) Bronze Muffler (set aside in
Step 1) into the bore of the SGV Retainer (or reuse the old one
if it is not dirty). Apply a small amount of a non-permanent
pipe thread sealant to the threads of the (2, 3 & 5) SGV
Retainer Assembly.
5. Slide the (4) Swivel Exhaust Assembly into the (6) Shroud
Adapter Fitting while at the same time inserting the (2, 3 & 5))
SGV Retainer Assembly into the Sander Housing exhaust port.
6. Screw the SGV Retainer Assembly into the Sander Housing.
Insure all parts are properly aligned and torque the (2, 3 & 5)
SGV Retainer Assembly to 60-72 in-lbs.
7. Grasp the female Swivel Fitting on the (4) "SGV" Exhaust
Assembly and turn the fitting to thread the male end of the
(1) Vacuum Hose into the Swivel Fitting until the hose is tight.
8. Place a small amount of a non-permanent pipe thread sealant
to the threads of the male end of the 1/4" Air Line fitting on
the (1) Vacuum Hose Assembly and thread into the inlet port of
the Sander Housing. Use an 18mm wrench to hold the inlet
port Bushing and torque the Air Line fitting to 80-100 in-lbs.

"SGV" HOUSING CONVERSION
WARNING:
5 in. pads must only be used on 5 in.
machines and 6 in. pads must only be
used on 6 in. machines.
Pads not included.
9. Open the (8) Vacuum Bag zipper and turn the Bag inside out.
Slip the Bag neck opening over the Vacuum Bag fitting on
the end of the (1) Vacuum Hose Assembly. Tie the Bag neck
securely into the groove of the Vacuum Bag Fitting with
the attached string, then turn the Bag right side out and
close the zipper.
10. Screw on the new (9) Vacuum Pad (not included, see available
pads page 8).
