3. OPERATION

3.1 WINCHING THE MAST UP AND DOWN
Rotate the winch clockwise to raise the mast, rotate it counter-clockwise to lower the
mast. The winch is self-locking and will remain at the height it is winched to. The winch
is also assisted on the way down so the tower will come down smoothly.
Once the mast is raised to the top of its height, use the pin to lock it in place. To winch
the mast down pull out the pin and slowly begin to turn the winch counter-clockwise to
lower the tower.
WARNING!
  Do not use the light tower in high winds! Serious damage or personal
injury may occur.
NOTE
  Always operate the unit on level ground and deploy the outriggers for
additional stability when raising the mast.
  Do not lower the tower past the retracted position, this may damage the
cable if too much slack is created. Stop winching as soon as you detect
the tower is no longer moving lower.
