5.2 Lubrication

Stage 1: Approximately every 32 hours of use
Apply light machine oil to cutters (ex: WD-40). Note: this
may help to remove feed chute.
Stage 2: Twice yearly or as needed
Pull out the stage 2 cutting chamber (See page 10, skip steps 5-8)
Apply grease to grease fittings on the top of the rotor bearings, using a grease gun with a flexible nozzle.
o Grease with Gulflex "A", multi-purpose or equivalent.
o Remove belt guard if unable to access drive side rotor bearing.
o One grease fitting per bearing, see diagram.

5.3 Fan Cleanout

The filter fan must be cleaned regularly to avoid excessive noise, dust buildup, and to ensure proper air filtration.
SEM recommends cleaning every 500 drives.
Remove the back panel opposite the cutting chamber access door.
Remove the plug by holding the metal plate and turning the wing nut counter clockwise.
Using a toothbrush or similar plastic friendly tool, attempt to loosen and clean off the built-up dust.
Vacuum as much dust as possible through the hole.
Remove the HEPA and carbon pre-filter (See section 5.4).
Slide vacuum into the hose as far in as possible to get whatever dust
can be picked up.
Replace the pre-filter, HEPA, cover, and insert the plug so the
opening is between the two ridges.
Hold the metal plate and turn the wing nut clockwise.
Wiggle it around to make sure the seal is good and replace the rear
guard.
