Milling base
1. Product description
This milling base for the dental laboratory consists of two main components and is provided with a chucking
device allowing work on cylindrical and slightly tapered laboratory replica, either manually or with the milling
device. After removal of the upper part to carry out free-handed work, this can be placed back into its original
position which is fixed by the lower part of the milling base.
2. Functional overview – milling base 555
- Suitable for cylindrical and slightly tapered laboratory replica/implants with diameters ranging from
1 to 6.5 mm
- Internal height adjuster for individually adjusting the position of the replica
- The milling base can be fixed to a magnetic or model table
- Two-piece construction to allow flexible work (milling device or free-handed)
- Quick removal and repositioning of the chuck, thanks to screw-on locking bolt
- Ergonomically shaped clamping nut
- No risk of injury caused by fast generation of heat
- Metal parts made of stainless steel
3. Start-up and appropriate use
Milling device
- Unscrew clamping nut. Choose the clamping jaw according to the diameter of the laboratory replica or implant
and place into the chuck (fig.1). Screw clamping nut back on until slight resistance can be felt.
- Insert laboratory replica/implant into the clamping jaw and clamp gently by fastening the clamping nut.
- Thanks to a through-hole at the underside of the base, the height adjuster can be set to the required height
with a slotted screw driver to suit the laboratory replica/implant to be worked on (fig. 2). Then fix the laboratory
replica/implant in its final position with the clamping nut.
- Fix the chucking device to the base plate with the locking bolt.
- Use on a magnetic or model table.
Free-handed use
- Loosen locking bolt with 0.5 – 1 turns, pull black handle, twist by 90° and deposit on the rests provided to
prevent the spring from snapping back (fig. 3).
- Remove chucking unit (fig. 4) and use for free-handed work.
Repositioning the chucking unit
- Place chucking unit into the base plate.
- Turn the handle of the locking bolt by 90° towards the grooves (does not yet lock at this stage)
- Turn chucking unit in the base plate until the handle of the locking bolt catches
- Fasten the chucking unit with the locking bolt
