3-9. Power supply

Power should be supplied to the output connectors shown in Fig. 3-3 according to the
specifications below.

In-rush current
The unit generates no output for approximately 0.1 seconds after the power is turned on. In
some cases, when the power is turned off, the unit may output a signal as a result of the
encoder stop status or the power supply characteristics. This signal can cause a malfunction
in the receiver. To prevent this from happening, be sure that the following procedures are
used to turn the power on and off.
Turning on the power
1)
Turn on the power supply for the MJ620.
2)
Turn on the power for the receiver.
Turning off the power
1)
Turn off the power for the receiver.
2)
Turn off the power supply for the MJ620.
Notes
. Be sure that a power supply with sufficient power capacity is used.
. As a part of the self-check function, all lamps of the MJ620 turn on for approximately
0.4 seconds after the power is turned on.
