Legs
Various sets of legs are available as
accessories, enabling you to use the bed
bases as freestanding bases without
a bedstead. The legs will also provide
greater stability when fi xed to bases
placed in bedsteads. The legs are fi xed to
the base using pre-drilled screw holes at
each corner of the base. You are advised to mount the legs with
the help of another person. You will fi nd it easier if you mount
the mattress support after fi xing the legs to the base. With extra-
large (120 cm and more) and extra-long (210 cm and more)
sizes, you have the option of fi xing legs to the central strut for
greater stability.
Mattress support
If you use your TEMPUR ® Bed Base as a
freestanding base, you will need mattress
holders to prevent the mattress from slip-
ping. We recommend 5 holders, one at the
foot end and two at each side. For double
or extra wide beds please attach 2 at the
foot and 2 to each side of the base.
Assembling
For non-adjustable bases
The mattress support is to be attached to the inner side of the
base by using the provided Spax ® -screws. The fastening points
for the screws have been pre-drilled.
For motor adjustable bases
Chrome mattress retainers are simply inserted in the side
adapters. The footboard mattress retainer is attached under the
last spring slat using 4 Spax ® -screws in pre-drilled holes.
Dimensions
The wooden spring bases comply with DIN EN 1334 (Methods
of Measurement and Recommended Tolerances for Beds and
Mattresses) specifi cations.
Mattress
The TEMPUR ® Bed Base is specially designed for use with
TEMPUR ® mattresses. In this genuinely innovative bed concept,
the unique pressure-resistant properties of the TEMPUR ®
materials are aided by the patented, pressure-absorbing surface
of the base.
Motorised bases
Please follow the instructions on the switch and the more
detailed explanation in the instruction manual.
Materials
Polymers
Only fully recyclable thermoplastic and thermoelastic polymers
go into making TEMPUR ® Bed Bases. All synthetic parts are
dyed and paint-free. We do not use softeners or other harmful
additives.
Wood
Wooden bases and spring supports are made in beech and pro-
tected by a natural wax or covered with paper foil. The laminated
wood is made using special, non-toxic carbamide resin. The
base and spring supports have up to 8 glued layers depend-
ing on the model, are low in formaldehyde in compliance with
European standards and have durable elasticity.
Care
General
Clean the hinges once a year with a dry cloth. Apply a thin layer
of Vaseline or acid-free fat on the racks at least once a year. This
will prolong the life of your TEMPUR ® Bed Base. Avoid exposing
the bed base to direct sunlight for long periods. To clean, use
water or any mild cleaning agent. Do not use deep-cleaning or
scouring agents, alcohol, Cellosolve thinner, acetone or any
caustic agent. We accept no liability for damage caused by the
use of inappropriate cleaning agents.
Motorised models
The best way of avoiding noise caused e.g. by dust particles is
to grease joints and using a quality, non-toxic, all-purpose oil
where possible to relevant parts as and when needed, but at
least once a year.
Dismantling Recycling
The composition of each individual part is marked to facilitate
sorting for waste disposal, i.e. all parts are fully recyclable.
Special designs available on request.
Subject to technical alterations.
