Maintaining the Printer
Running Power Cleaning (Control Panel)
1. Load A4 -size plain paper in the printer.
"Loading Paper in the Rear Paper Feeder" on page 29
2. Select
on the printer's control panel.
3. Select Maintenance.
4. Select Print Head Cleaning > Power Cleaning.
5. When cleaning is finished, print the nozzle check pattern again. Check that all of the lines in the nozzle check
pattern are printed correctly.
Important:

If print quality has not improved after running Power Cleaning, wait for at least 6 hours without printing, and
then print the nozzle check pattern again. Run Head Cleaning or Power Cleaning again depending on the
printed pattern. If quality still does not improve, contact Epson support.

Running Power Cleaning (Windows)
1. Access the printer driver window.
2. Click Print Head Cleaning on the Utility tab.
3. Select Power Cleaning.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Important:

1. Select System Preferences from the Apple menu > Printers & Scanners (or Print & Scan, Print & Fax), and
then select the printer.
2. Click Option & Supplies > Utility > Open Printer Utility.
