6) With regard to the use of a mixed configuration of 2 Mbit/s ports and Ethernet ports within the same
subrack, first insert the 2 Mbit/s ports into slots 39, 36, 33 (32 spare) and the Ethernet ports into slots 26
to 31.
IP MATRIX 1 Gbit/s, 4 x Ethernet
1) They can be inserted into slots from 24 to 39, the rules to follow are the same as Ethernet ports
connections.
Gbit Ethernet access
1) They can be inserted into slots from 2 to 9 and from 13 to 20.
2) This access unit is managed by Ethernet port card, the relationship between units is described in Table
4 on page 65.
3) The optical connections are made by means of the optical modules inserted on the unit front panel.
STM-1 IP MATRIX
1) They can be inserted into slots from 24 to 39. The optical connections are made by means of the
SMOPT modules.
STM-4 connections
1) They can be inserted into slots 24 to 39.
STM-16 connections
1) They can be inserted into slots 25+26, 28+29, 34+35 and 37+38. Each unit occupies 2 slots.
Optical BOOSTER connections
1) They can be inserted into slots 2+3, 4+5, 6+7, 8+9, 13+14, 15+16, 17+18, and 19+20. Each unit
occupies 2 slots.
2) If possible use the access slots corresponding to the position of port STM 16 connecting them.
Optical 2,5 Gbit/s Preamplifier
1) The same rules used for the Booster apply.
Optical and electrical STM-n installation
1) They can be inserted into slots 24 to 39 and the relationship is described in Figure 28 on page 55.
2) There is no access module for the optical units STM-4 and STM-16.
Optical ATM 4x4 and ATM 8x8 connections
1) Units ATM 4x4 can be inserted into slots 24 to 39, while units ATM 8x8 can be inserted into slots 24 to
38, this unit occupies 2 slots.
2) Unit ATM4x4 can be equipped with the electrical or optical modules STM1.
CONGI connections
1) They must be inserted into slots 10 and 12 with priority to slot 10.
2) Set the straps for CONGI 3W or 2W.
Service
1) It must be inserted into slot 11.
