INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
NISSAN MAXIMA 1995 – 1996 & 1997 – 1999
HARDWARE KIT
6 – Plastic Expansion Plugs
6 – #6 x ½" Pan Head Sheet Metal Screws
4 – Large Bumpons
2 – 3M Anti-abrasion Film Pads
2 – Black 'E' clips -

INSTALLATION FOR 1995 – 1996 MAXIMA
1. Be sure that the hood is clean and dry inside and out.
2. Center the deflector on the hood, determine where the deflector will mount, remove and discard the corresponding hood seal clips.
Slip the deflector in between the hood and the hood seal.

Insert the expansion plugs through the existing holes in hood seal, where the clips were removed in step 2, through the deflector and into the

hood. Ensure that all the components are well seated against the hood, then insert and tighten the screws into the expansion plugs. See
Figure #a1.
Install the four (4) bumpons on the hood as shown below in Figure #2. Attention: The bumpons must be installed on the hood, not on

the deflector!!! If the bumpons are installed on the deflector they will wear through the paint.
Install the anti-abrasion film pads directly under where the 'E' clips (already attached to the deflector) will fit on the hood. Be sure to wrap the

pads over the leading edge of the hood to cover at least ½" of the bottom of the hood.
Install the 'E' clips by gently pulling the deflector wings towards the leading edge of the hood until they slide over and clip onto the hood

8. On some vehicles it may be necessary to adjust the hood bumpers and/or latch for proper clearance.
Note: Do not pull on the deflector when opening or closing the hood.

INSTALLATION FOR 1997 - 1999 MAXIMA

Be sure that hood is clean and dry inside and out. Open the hood and center the deflector on it.

Insert the expansion plugs through the holes in the deflector and into the corresponding holes in the hood. Ensure that all the components

are well seated against the hood, then insert and tighten the screws into the expansion plugs. See Figure #1b.
Install the four (4) bumpons on the hood as shown below in Figure #2. Attention: The bumpons must be installed on the hood, not on

Install the anti-abrasion film pads directly under where the 'E' clips (already attached to the deflector) will fit on the hood. Be sure to wrap the

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Clean the deflector with a mild soap and water solution or plastic cleaner only. Do not use chemicals or solvents. Periodically check to
make sure that the bumpons are in place and that the deflector is secure. Avoid using automatic car washes. Do not pull on the deflector
when opening or closing the hood.
