    Configuring call control Using the call-control procedures, you can configure the Stinger to allow connections to be established even when the line state is not fully up. You configure the unit to use these procedures systemwide or on a per-port basis on the DS3-ATM, OC3-ATM, and E3-ATM trunk modules and on the SDSL, ADSL, and SHDSL/HDSL2 LIMs.

By default, the Stinger unit monitors the physical line state of its interfaces and allows connections to be established only when the line state is fully connected.

    Selective bin loading enables you to mask the interfering frequency by disabling the Stinger frequency bin that corresponds to it. You can also use selective bin loading to mask intermittent noise from other sources in a particular bundle from the central office.
