Subwoofer System with
1500 W Power Amplifier
Please read these operating instructions care-
fully prior to operating the unit and keep them for
later reference.
1 Applications
The subwoofer system MEGA-118SUBAK of the
premium professional PA speaker system series
is equipped with a high-capability 46 cm (18")
bass speaker (Celestion FTR18-4080HDX) and
serves for subwoofer completion of full-range
speakers in PA systems. The speaker system
is equipped with a class D power amplifier
(1500 W
, 1000 W
) and an adjustable low

RMS
pass filter. To protect the subwoofer, various pro-
tective circuits are provided.
Different outputs can be used for the con-
nection of the amplifier for the main speakers
and another active or passive subwoofer.
2 Safety Notes
The unit corresponds to all relevant directives of
the EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit is supplied with haz-
ardous mains voltage. Leave
servicing to skilled personnel
only. Inexpert handling or modifi-
cation of the unit may cause an
electric shock hazard.

The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect
it against dripping water and splash water,
high air humidity and heat (admissible ambi-
ent temperature range 0 – 40 °C).

Do not place any vessels filled with liquid, e. g.
drinking glasses, on the unit.

Do not set the unit into operation and immedi-
ately disconnect the mains plug from the
mains socket if
1. there is visible damage to the unit or to the
mains cable,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or
similar accident,
3. malfunctions occur.
The unit must in any case be repaired by
skilled personnel.

Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the
mains plug from the mains socket, always
seize the plug.

For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, never
use chemicals or water.
G
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liabil-
ity for any resulting personal damage or mate-
rial damage will be accepted if the unit is used
for other purposes than originally intended, if it
is not correctly connected or operated, or not
repaired in an expert way.
If the unit is to be put out of operation
definitively, take it to a local recycling
plant for a disposal which is not harm-
ful to the environment.

3 Connections and Operating Elements
Prior to connecting or changing connections,
.
always switch off the MEGA-118SUBAK and the
units to be connected!
1 Phase reversal switch
2 Operating mode switch Mono / Stereo
3 Connections PRE OUT: The input signal of
the jacks LINE INPUT (4) is available that
e. g. can be passed on to a second amplifier
system.
4 Connections LINE INPUT for the input signal
For a mono signal, only connect the left jack
and set the operating mode switch (2) to the
position MONO.
5 Mains jack for connection to a socket (230 V~/
50 Hz) via the supplied mains cable
6 POWER switch
7 LED POWER / PROTECT
green = normal operation
red = the protective circuit has switched off
the power amplifier (e. g. in case of
overheating or short circuit)
8 LED LIMITER: lights up when the limiter
reduces the volume of the subwoofer as a
protection in case the signal level is too high
9 Volume control MASTER
10 Control MID-HI CUT for the lower cut-off
frequency of an amplifier for the main speak-
ers which is connected to the outputs LEFT
and RIGHT (12)
11 Control BASS CUT for the upper cut-off fre-
quency of the internal subwoofer and an
active subwoofer system connected to the
output BASS (13)
12 Connections for the amplifier of the main
speakers
Adjust the lower cut-off frequency for these
speakers with the control MID-HI CUT (10).

Permanent high volumes may
damage your hearing! The human
ear will get accustomed to high
volumes which do not seem to be
that high any more after some
time. Therefore, do not further
increase a high volume after get-
ting used to it.
