- Page 2 WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR ULTRA COMPACT METER CONTROLLED WATER SOFTENER All water softeners work on the same basic principal. Hard water flows through a bed of resin and the calcium and magnesium (the minerals responsible for hard water) are removed. This process does NOT affect the ph value of your water softener.
- Page 3 Ultra Compact Meter Controlled Water Softener Installation Guide Planning your installation Always observe the water bylaws. Ensure there is only one rising main and that you have allowed space for access to the unit for salt filling and possible maintenance in the future.
- Page 4 Waste Pipe Installation All softeners are provided with a waste hose. The Ultra Compact Meter Controlled Water softener has a 3/8” length of waste supplied along with a push fit connector. Run the drain hose to either an up stand or an outside drain. A minimum air gap of 20mm must exist at the end of the drain line.
- Page 5 Ultra Compact Meter Controlled Water Softener Setting the machine to service Complete the programme sections before setting into service mode (see page 5 of this guide). To set the machine to service simply alter the position of the inlet and outlet valve and turn the bypass valve to the off position.
- Page 6 There is no adjustment required. To programme your Ultra Compact Water Softener Setting the time of day: Press the time controller (2) until the desired hour appears. Release. There is no minute setting on this softener. Elapsed minutes will reset to zero when the hour is changed.
